For close to two decades, the International Conference on Management of Data (COMAD), modeled along the lines of ACM SIGMOD, has been the premier international database conference hosted in India. The first COMAD was held in 1989, and it has been held on a nearly annual basis since then (except for a few breaks such as in the years when VLDB and ICDE were held in India). As of 2010, the conference runs as an event of the newly formed Computer Society of India (CSI)
Special Interest Group on Data (SIGDATA).
The 18th COMAD will be held from December 14-16, 2012 in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Home’s scope includes all areas of data management including Database Management Systems, Web and Information Retrieval, and Data Mining. Submission of original research contributions as well as proposals for demonstrations, industrial presentations, tutorials, and panels are invited.
To encourage participation from junior research colleagues, Home will have a special “Work in Progress” track designed as a forum to present ongoing work and receive feedback. Onlythe abstracts of submissions in this track will be included in the proceedings of the conference. This will not preclude the authors from submitting the full version of their paper to another conference. |
