07.10 - 08.10 pm: Cultural programme – Jaanakiyan
“Jaanakiyan” brings a radically different perspective to Ramayana, the Indian epic. It features a vignette about the female protagonist of the Ramayana, Seeta's, sentence, which comes through by way of dance and verse. Her feelings about Rama and Raavana, the yin and yang; the passion, compassion, terrors and triumphs of her life are portrayed through the timeless magnificence of Kuchipudi, a South Indian classical dance style, and some exquisite Marathi poetry. |
